Jason Riley of the Athletes Compound

October 30, 2009

jason-rileyI recently read an article on Yahoo Sports about a former colleague of mine, Jason Riley. It is nice to see some different faces getting some much deserved publicity. I hired him back in 2000 to work with me at the International Performance Institute at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida and had the pleasure of working with Jason for eight years there. Jason was a hard working coach and a leader with a lot of ideas and a desire to keep learning and push the envelope. He wanted the best for his clients as well as himself. Jason left IMG academies and now is the Director of Performance for the Athletes Compound at Saddlebrook Resort just outside of Tampa, Florida. I have no doubt that Jason’s reputation will make him one of the leaders in the strength and conditioning field. He is an excellent teacher and motivator and is very passionate about improving an individuals athleticism. The staff at the International Performance Institute worked well together and learned a great deal from one another. The staff made me a lot smarter each and every day.

This is an important lesson for anyone who is looking to become better at what you do whether it is as a strength and conditioning coach or any other area. Make sure that you surround yourself with great people and keep learning and challenging yourself every day.

If you are anywhere near Tampa, Florida and are looking for a place to improve your athletic performance, the Athletes Compound is definitely the best place to train. Click here for more information about the Athletes Compound at Saddlebrook Resort.
